This Pilea peperomioides is an easy care and fast growing houseplant. These guys will double in size pretty much every year is cared for correctly. These lovely leafy little plants are more commonly known as Chinese money plant, pancake plant, UFO plant, lefse plant, missionary plant, or mirror grass.
It hails from China, hence the common name of Chinese Money Plant.
A Swedish missionary brought in the Chinese money plant to Europe from China in 1946. That’s why it’s also known as the Chinese Missionary Plant. You can see why this guy has got so many common names.
Keep this little plant lightly moist, letting the top inch of my soil dry between waterings. Place in a nice sunny spot.
Quick to grow. It would benefit for a re-pot every 12 to 18 months to encourage growth. Sizing up by 1" in terms of pot each time.
