Hemionitis arifolia is also known as a heart leaf fern. It's easy to see why. The leaves on this guy are heart shaped. First identified in 1859, this little heart leaf ferns are native to Southeast Asia. It is a dwarf fern meaning it's great for small spaces and it won't go crazy and outgrow its home anytime soon. This fern is one of my favourite types of plants - an epiphyte. Epiphytes tend to be easy care. Which is great for those with busy lives.
These little plants are great for terrariums as they love humidity.
This fern is grown and used for medicinal purposes to treat cancer in parts of Asia
Keep moist, but not soggy. Too much water will lead to root rot. They also need bright, indirect sunlight. These guys are a compact fern and will grow to a maximum of around 15cm (6 inches) tall.
