This Dracaena marginata is a tree that isn't a tree!
So, it has a trunk but this is only because the leaves that are lower in this easy care house plant have fallen away to expose it. This is part of the growing process. As your Dracaena sprouts new foliage from the top, those at the bottom will die off, revealing more of the stem.
It's good in low light areas, but the leaves do need a bit of tending to from time to time. Give them a dust and remove any old, dying leaves from the bottom.
Otherwise it's a fairly easy to care for plant.
Not pet safe.
