This prickly echinocactus grusonii is also know as a golden barrel cactus, golden ball or mother-in-law's cushion, - ouch!
It is a well known species of cactus which comes from east-central Mexico. It is rare and endangered in the wild, where it is found near Mesa de León in the state of Querétaro, and in the state of Hidalgo.
Place in lots of bright, indirect light and some sun but avoid harsh sunlight as this may scorch the plant.
Water: once the top layer of soil has dried. As with most plants, cut back on watering in the winter months.
Completely non-toxic to pets and humans. If you can even get close enough to try to eat this plant!
Delivered in 5.5cm plastic nursery pot.
