This gorgeous red guzmania is part of the bromeliad family.
Like all bromeliads that like bright, natural light. But keep out of direct sunlight as it may burn your plant.
They’ll be fine in low light for a few weeks, but they won’t be as long-lasting. If you want them for the long haul and to have pups, bright light is the ticket.
Guzmanias have a built in water collection tank - because nature is just that cool! When watering, add water to the base of the leaves, where they form a cup. Once this has dried up, water again. Use rain water where possible.
The flower will last for 6 to 9 months. Once it has reached the end of its life it will start to brown. You can cut it back at this point, or leave until nature runs its course.
I will bloom again from a pup, which will grow at the base of the plant.
Delivered in a 9cm pot.
