This cute little opuntia tuna comes from Dominican Republic, Jamaica and other Caribbean Islands. It is a close relative of the Prickly Pear and Bunny Ear Cactus.
It was first description was in 1753 by Carl Linnaeus as Cactus tuna. Philip Miller described it as Opuntia tuna in 1768.
If you fancy having a go at growing this guy yourself, it's easy to propagate. Just remove an 'ear' and lay it on the soil.
But be careful when touching this cactus as the glochids (that's the yellow fluffy looking pots) can get stuck in your fingers. They will cause skin irritation is left there. So use gloves of some newspaper for handling this little bunny.
Delivered in a 5.5cm plastic pot.
