The Philodendron has been a popular houseplant choice for many years.
It's popular because of its dramatic heart-shaped foliage. This easy care houseplant is the perfect addition to any home. And this guy is a real stunner, with its yellow and green variegated leaves.
Just remember to keep an eye out as it will tell you when it's in good or poor health.
This philodendron scandens likes indirect light, and as this guy hails from South American it will appreciate a warm, humid environment.
If you get it wrong, your philodendron will let you know; too much light will cause the leaves to go yellow and too little will result in long stems and small leaves.
Be sure to check that the top inch of soil is dry before watering. Take a look for droopy leaves, as this is a good sign that you plants needs a water.
This philodendron is not to be confused with a pothos.
Whilst the two are often mixed up, they are different.
The main difference is the leaves. A pothos leaf has a thicker, waxy feel and slightly raised/bumpy texture to the leaves and is spade shaped. A philodendron has thinner leaves with a smoother texture and is shaped more heart-like.
