Ficus elastica is also known as a rubber tree plant, rubber fig, rubber bush, rubber tree, rubber plant, or Indian rubber bush, Indian rubber tree.
That's a lot of names.
They're a species of plant in the fig genus, native to eastern parts of South Asia and southeast Asia.
It has become naturalized in Sri Lanka, the West Indies, and the US State of Florida. Rubber plants prefer bright, indirect light that isn't too hot.
Direct sunlight can result in scorched leaves. You can keep your rubber plant near a window with a sheer curtain to give it just the right amount of sunlight.
Spray Rubber Plants regularly especially if the plant is surrounded by heated air. During the growing season, water moderately with lukewarm water.
These guys are completely non-toxic to pets (and humans, just in case you fancied seeing what one of these tastes like).
