This is the 'just as tough' brother of the Mother-in-Laws tongue.
This guy has long stems of dark green, almost black succulent foliage. It’s a really striking plant.
These guys are also known as a 'bedroom plant' as they omit oxygen at night, where many plants actually stop this process come night fall.
They also absorb excessive amounts of carbon monoxide and filters other toxins from the air such as benzene, xylene, trichloroethylene and formaldehyde. It's a super plant!!
Overwatering can cause this plant to rot. Make sure to allow the soil to dry in between waterings. Reduce watering down to once a month during the winter.
Sansevierias do best in indirect light. However, they will do fine in low light areas and can also withstand full sun.
The Snake Plant can grow up to four or five feet tall, though they are generally pretty slow growers.
Great in the bedroom, but will be fine in all other rooms in the house too. Try and avoid steamy bathrooms or kitchens though.
Toxic is eaten, causing; nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
