This cute String of Needles is a succulent type vine plant. Ceropegia Linearis is an unusual and rare relative of the more widely available String of Hearts.
It's native to South Africa. It's a great, fast growing and rewarding plant that is perfect for beginners of those with a busy life. It has long vines with thin succulent leaves that look like needles, hence the name String of Needles'.
You can pop this little hanging houseplant pretty much anywhere in the home and then forget about it for a while. Perfect.
These guys are drought tolerant and prefer being in dry soil. Let the soil dry out completely before watering. If possible allow the plant to 'bottom chug'. This is where you pop the plant in a a saucer of water and allow it to soak up the water from the bottom. Watering on the top of the soil can cause the stems and leaves to rot.
Bright, in-direct light. Too little light will result in leggy stems. The correct light levels will give your plant vines with lots of lovely leaves.
Quick to grow and will benefit from a prune on a regular basis.
Great on a shelf or in a Macramé hanger in any room.
