This Zamioculcas Zamiifolia is also known as a ZZ Plant or a Zanzibar Gem.
It's been a popular houseplant in the UK since its introduction by Dutch nurseries in 1996. This leafy-green-lovely tolerates neglect, doesn't mind a drought and accepts low-light conditions. Sounds like a good plant to me!
And you guys know I love any plant featured in NASA Air Purifying study, So when I read this ZZ Plant was one of them I fell in love a little bit more!
The research found it is specifically adept at removing copious amounts of toxins such as xylene, toluene, and benzene from the air.
Looking after this guy is easy.
Pop it in a shaded spot in your home, water it when completely dry (it doesn't matter if you forget about this guy for a long time) and that's it.
If you fancy making ZZ Babies - it's easy. These plants have fairly large bulbous roots (that is where they store their water), simply separate these and re-pot. This will allow your ZZ a bit of root space to pop out a baby plant or two.
Delivered in 12cm plastic pot.
NOTE: as these plants like to be root bound the nursery not may be slightly distorted due to the root form of the plant.
